A Mom’s Precious Memories

So, my babies are still little. The oldest is 26 months and the youngest is 7 months (time is moving fast). The oldest knows all of his alphabets (upper and lowercase) by sight (he still does not know the Alphabet song but he can call out all the letters). My youngest is crawling (hands and knees) and pulling up on everything. I know that she will be walking soon. I try to capture it all with video and photos and I try to record it all down. Time is just flying by and some days I wish it would slow down (just a bit). I came across a video that I recorded around the time that my oldest started walking.

I hope that you have a wonderful Tuesday!

Weekends are for Family Fun

Weekends are the best because we get to do things as a family. I can breathe a little easier when going out with 2 kids because for some reason they act differently with Daddy. The tantrums and fits that they have sometimes out in public with me, don’t happen when out with Daddy. I think he thinks I exaggerate the tantrums. Whatever! All I know is that we have fun on the weekends as a family.

Here are some cool things happening in NY this weekend:
– Learn about Frogs
– Recycle at Greenmarket
– Exercise to tales of great women
– Glow in the dark sculptures
– Rock out to the Silly Dilly Band
– Mardi Gras Art Parade at the Children’s Museum

Have a wonderful weekend!

Let’s Have An Ice Cream Party – Recipe by Tartelette

I love ice cream sandwiches. I thought that ice cream on Friday would be a great treat. I decided to find a gluten-free recipe because I wanted a lot of people to enjoy this indulgence. Shortly after my son turned 1, he was diagnosed with Celiac disease (intolerance to gluten (wheat). As a family, we decided to adjust our diets to match his (which was a bit challenging because fast food was out). It was not until recently (after going to another GI specialist in NY), that his diagnosis was reversed. So even though he has been ruled out for the disease, we still enjoy gluten-free treats from time to time. We are going to try to recipe over the weekend. I will let you know how they turn out. I hope that you are able to have an ice party today!

Here is the ice cream sandwich recipe found on Tartelette.

Can I please get a Nanny and Personal Chef? And if you are feeling generous, can you throw in a Housekeeper?

Being a Mom means that you wear a lot of different hats. We manage to do it all and still keep our sanity (at least on most days). My life would be so much easier if I had a Nanny, Personal Chef, and a Housekeeper. I would have so much free time to do things that people without kids take for granted like taking a long shower or bath, taking a walk by myself, leaving on the spur of the moment, and going out on dates with my husband. Though it would be nice to have all of those people helping me, I love my life and I enjoy my time with family. My babies will only be little for a short while and I plan on enjoying every moment (even when they are throwing tantrums and crying for no reason at all). Today, I wanted to highlight items that help to make my daily life easier.

Weekends are for Family Fun

Target stores had Dr. Seuss storytime today. Since my kids love Dr. Seuss books, we had to go to the event. We started the day with smiles:)

On the way to the event, Jake found the perfect leaf that he decided to take with him to storytime. And of course, we are still all smiles:)

We only had to follow the strollers to find the event. Jake and Marley both listened to ‘Oh! The Places You’ll Go’ and participated in fun games and activities.

After the excitement, we decided to go and have lunch at a great Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. We all love Mexican food!

After lunch, we told Jake that we would go to the park and the playground before going home. So of course….all smiles:)

The afternoon ended with a walk in the park and fun at the playground.

We had a wonderful family day out and now it is time for a nap.

I hope that you are having a wonderful time with family today! Happy Saturday!!

Painting a Masterpiece on a Rainy Day

It is sometimes hard to keep a 24 month old happy when the weather is bad. He loves to go outside and release tons of energy. So on days when the weather is not cooperating, we have to come up with fun indoor activities. Today, Jake is an artist.
